Firstly, it is very difficult to look at your property objectively, but walk round your home and try to look at it through prospective purchasers’ eyes. Ask yourself. Does it make you want to place an offer?

The outside:

• First impressions can be crucial so clear up the approach to your home. If you have a front garden be sure everything looks fresh, tidy and welcoming.
• Ensure your windows are clean. Dirty windows can help make the house look tired and unloved.
• Check the exterior paintwork. A wash down with hot soapy water generally helps to freshen it up. Or if you can see flaking paint – your prospective purchasers will also see it and could be put off, so consider repainting.
